John Ouellette
AYSO National Coach Instructor

John is a 30-year plus AYSO volunteer who is currently AYSO’s National Coach Instructor, and has been the National Coach for 20 years and was on the AYSO National Office staff for more than 15 years.
John spent 20 years in the United States Air Force before joining the AYSO National Office team in November of 1992. In addition to being the AYSO National coach for over 20 years, John is also an AYSO National Referee. He has trained with England’s prestigious Manchester United soccer club, and has coached at all youth levels for both boys and girls.
John has coached in various high schools and at Weber State University in Layton, Utah. John’s vision reaches beyond the playing fields to positively impact the lives of all boys and girls around the nation. He is a huge proponent of developmentally based, age-specific training programs for youth players and has championed the acceptance of small-sided play, fun play development, and “kids first” attention to the art of coaching soccer. His goal is to make every AYSO coach and parent aware of the psychological, emotional and physicals needs of their children.
